Note: This volunteer opportunity has more slots available than we need in case of last-minute dropouts. Those not contacted are reserved as backup volunteers.
Help us assemble care packages for vulnerable people in isolation.
Every Thursday we assemble more than 100 care packages at our warehouse to support people in isolation all across London. Each care pack has enough food and supplies to last someone for a week; the packs also include something to lift the spirit, like tea and biscuits, a handwritten note, and more.
You will be helping assemble the care packs, write notes to our recipients, sanitise products, and more. Our staff will be at the warehouse to show you how it works and will ensure health and safety protocols are upheld.
Before signing up, please read through our health and safety protocol which are strictly enforced at the warehouse (we will provide masks and gloves upon arrival).
As a reminder, please DO NOT sign up if you or someone you’ve come in contact with has had COVID-19 symptoms in the past 14 days.
We suggest that you bring a water bottle and a jumper to have with you during your shift.
From our recipients:
“… I have received my package thank so much you have really made life so happy in this time of lockdown…”
“… Thank you for the package which is especially welcome as I am back in bed with post-corona breathlessness. [Name of another recipient] finds it hard to shop on her own so this could not be more timely…”
From our volunteers:
“… Check them out as they need donations and volunteers to do packaging for people in isolation. They have a place that’s sanitised according to their medical professional’s standards to do all their packaging.”
“Fantastic work – please keep it up!”
