Note: this volunteer opportunity has more slots available than we need in case of last-minute dropouts. We will contact you in order of sign-up. Those not contacted are reserved as backup volunteers.
Every Tuesday, we send face shields to GPs and hospitals that are in urgent need.
We send 3D-printed face shields (manufactured out of our warehouse in Kentish Town) and laser-cut face shields (manufactured by Sir Simon Milton Westminster UTC).
Typically, the day looks like this:
- Pickup 3D-printed visors from our warehouse (19-37 Highgate Road, London, London, UK, NW5 1JY)
- Pickup laser-cut visors from Sir Simon Milton Westminster UTC (1 Sutherland St, Pimlico, London SW1V 4LD, London, UK)
- Drop these visors off at a local Hermes post office for courier
- Sometimes, we will also need to deliver visors around hospitals/ GPs in London.
The pickup order generally doesn’t matter.
The exact extra delivery locations will vary.
Please reserve around 2 hours for this trip.
If multiple volunteers sign up, we will split delivery journeys as evenly as possible.
The closest courier drop off point from our warehouse is Dr. Mart Convenience Store (698 Holloway Rd, Archway, London N19 3NL). This is a few minutes away by car.
The closest courier drop-off point from Sir Simon Milton Westminer is Eureka Stationary (46-48, Warwick Way, Pimlico, London SW1V 1RY). This is a few minutes away by car.
We will have paid for these parcel labels in advance. You will just have to print these labels in-store.
After you confirm sign-up, we will send these parcel labels to you via email.
A regular size car should be sufficient for delivery.
If we need to deliver to other routes, we will notify you after you sign up. We will send these routes to you as soon as possible.
